After interviewing the audience members and getting their feed back, it made it clear to me which aspects of the filming and creating that I should take more care on and the parts which they feel I have done well on. Below are the comments made by some of the audience members:
Debra:
I feel that you have done very well with creating ideas of how to produce your own music video to this particular song. I like the Alice and Wonderland theme with your own interpretation but the only thing that i would suggest, is to be very careful whilst filming the different scenes. The reason for suggesting this, is that it could appear tacky when watching it back over after its all been done. Although, by the sounds of it, you have seemed to have planned everything out, being conscious of the different aspects that could in fact delay or alter your timing.
Sam:
I agree with Debra with the different ideas that you have come up with. Although I feel maybe it could quite easily be misunderstood with the ideas that you are creating. What i mean, is that the audience might find it quite hard to understand what you are trying to film. Saying that, the ideas that you have explained seems like it will be clear to the audience, like imagined.
Amiee:
The only thing that I could say that might obstruct you from completing is the vast amount of filming that you have to do. With the many scenes and takes that would have to be produced to create the music video. Other than that, all seems like you have it covered.

Audience Feedback so far
Interviewing audience to find out there feedback on our progress and ideas:
To find out clearly what the audiences views and opinions were of the creating of our own music video, I took each member through step by step of what our ideas were and the progress that we made so far. The reasoning for this, is that it provides a clearer explanation and understanding for both the audience members and myself.
The first step that I explained was the actual assignment that we had all be given. I created rough bullet points so that I wouldn't miss any key information out when explaining to the members of the audience what exactly was the work set.
The next step I did was explain to the audience members what our ideas and plans were to create our own video for the song above. Again, I took them through step by step with how we came up with the ideas and what they actually were:
- As a group, we decided that the song was a narrative, therefore we should keep the style the same as it would be easier for the audience to understand.
- After deciding that it would be a narrative, we thought upon the idea of creating a fairytale approach, However, twisting the convections of an original fairytale and producing a 'dark' tale.
- I then thought of the idea of Alice and Wonderland. I chose this fairytale due to the fact that this story can be easy portrayed in the oppersite sense, showing a more darker side to the original story.
- After explanning the background of how we got to the ideas, I then explained how we would produce the video by the scenes that we took from the original and twisted them into our own interpretation.

- Producing and creating a music video to an already existing song
- Find an unsigned artist with a song that you feel that you can create a video too (preferably a song from the indie genre)
- Contact the artist, requesting permission to use their song
- Plan and step out all the aspects that are required to create the video
- Film and eventually edit the video that you have produced

The different scenes:
- Under the tree, reading a book

- Empty corridor with faceless people walking past
- Hall with falling cards
- Opening to the music video
Similar Genre Style Research
When planning our own music video, I took into consideration all aspects that could be essential to make it appear more like it was made for a specific genre rather than a mix. Therefore, I took all the important elements and compared them with similar existing products. However, for styling, I could not compare the music video with any others, due to the fact that it was purely narrative, therefore the actors and actress were wearing costumes.
I then thought, that I could take an artist that I feel has the right style for the artist that our group is creating, and base the style around her. This then lead me onto Eliza Doolittle. The reason why I chose her is that I feel her style embraces a larger range of audience. She is fun and bright but also has the up to date fashion available. Therefore, the bright colours attract a younger age group where as the updated fashion captures the older audience.
Therefore, the artist that we are creating, I felt should have the same elements as Eliza Doolittle, with the range of different audience members and the sense of fun bought into the music videos. However, the song that we chose and the video that we are creating contradicts the sense of fun and the bright colours. The reason why I still stuck with the original idea, is that i feel, the artist should have a range of different styles of music but one specific style to represent themselves.
The music video that i based the artist that I created was Eliza Doolittle - Skinny Genes

Simillar Editing
For another aspect of research, I compared the music video of Audrianna Cole 'Misplaced' with Sarah Barailles 'Love Song' to show editing. The reason that I am comparing editing with each music video, is that it shows me a more in depth understanding of why editing is used, and how it is used to create a better music video for the audience.
However, the comparision to both of the music videos, could not be classed as having the same aspects. Due to the fact that Sarah Barailles' music video is very heavily edited, and featured all through out the video. The editing consists of the artist made to appear within a music box is her being tiny playing the panio.
In comparison to the music video above, Audrianna Cole's video is edited simplistic to add effects. When filming our music video, I feel that i will use the approach of Audrianna Cole's music video.

Simillar Camera
To understand the nesscary camera angles and durations of shots, I compared a simillar music video that had many of the shots in both music videos. The music video that i compared our artist's music video with is 'Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles'.
The reason for using this artist's music video is due to the fact that long shots are very heavily featured within her video. Wide angles and ariel shots are also used often compared to extreme close ups. The reasoning for this, is that it allows the viewer to really gather the understanding of the narrative that is created.
Also within both music videos, the duration of shots are slow. Again, creating a more in depth focus to the linear narrative. However, there is a risk with a slow cutting rate, as the audience could become bored and lose concentrating, compared to a faster cutting rate.
Now that i have created a greater understanding for camera angles within a music video, simillar to the artist that i have chosen. I now understand that long shots and wide angles are nesscary to use to make it clear to the audience what is happening. However, with filming our music video, I feel that the cutting rate will be quicker to grab a greater understanding of the narrative within the video.

Inital Ideas For Digipack - Black and white
The ideas that I thought of with using this method are the following:
The scene of cards falling
- The cards fallen on the floor with 'Alice' sitting on top the cards, cross legged.
- Either the cards will be the orginial colour, or Alice's dress will be the original blue
- If the cards are the orginal red, then the angle will be an extreme high angle,
focusing upon the cards.
- However, if the dress is the only bright colour, then the camera will just be at a straight angle, directly in front of Alice.
OR
- Alice lays down on the fallen cards, again with either the cards in orginial colour
or Alice's dress.
- The camera will then be directly above alice (birds eyed view)
- Therefore the message will then give the impression that Alice is vanurable, and a
sence that she has almost given up
Due to the fact that i haven taken any of the photos for the digipack, I found this image on the internet, which has a simillar effect to how I am creating the front cover of the digi pack.
Tea Party
Another idea that I have thought of, continuing from the theme above, however, using the tea party scene but making specific products coloured. The tea party scene, personally, is the favourite scene within filming, due to the fact that it has so many creative aspects. I also feel that it really connects with the original 'Alice and Wonderland', meaning that our music video is clearly related.
The aspect that could be bright rather than black and white, are the tea mugs and jug, or again, Alice's dress. The reason for the mugs and saucers to be left with the orginal colour, is that it allows all the focus on the props rather than the music artist.
The image above, shows an image of the tea party, however, during the filming of our own music video we created our own interpretation.

Planning of Digi Pack
After producing a mind map for our digi pack, I have thought of some ideas that could make our artist stand out and become orginial. One of the ideas that i thought of, was having an image taken from the video; however, having the image completly black and white with one aspect in colour. The reasoning for this, is it allows the focus to fall on the part that has the colour worked into the image. Below are examples to explain my idea.
This image focuses on the multi-coloured ballons.
The focus of this image is the flowers held behind the girl's back.
I feel that this method suits the genre that we are working with. Due to the dull colours with a splash of bright colours, drawing attention in creative ways. The message if we used this method for our music video, would be a sense of alone and darkness (due to the dull colours). However, the bright splashes of colour, will associate the artist's personailtly with the song.

Similar Narrative
Expanding from genre research, I decided to compare our artist with another artist, in this case a band, that also had a narrative in their music video. The music video that I thought would be best to compare with is, 'One Night Only - Say You Don't Want It'.
The reasoning for this, is that it features a linear narrative. This is where a story line is running in the correct order. In lesson a while back, we annotated this music video taking out a few key notes that carried the most importance. Due to the fact that we were focusing upon the linear narrative.
One Night Only - Say You Don't Want It' has the narrative of boy met girl. The boy is rebellious being chased out of corner shops and running through the busy streets. However, unexpectedly, they are personified as dogs, which is then apparent at the end of the video. The female dog (girl actress) is taken in a rich looking car with a well manicured car. However the male dog is left. This could mean that one got famous and the other didn't.
Therefore, both videos have a narrative, which we could ultimately take inspiration from this video.
Avaliable Filming
As a group, we decided that filming in the school premises was the best option as there was no travelling needed but also we could all meet up easily without any problems. Along with decideding that in school would be best, i suggested that after school could also be the best possible option as we were not ristircted to the filming time. Another reason, is that everyone was avaliable on the majority of days along with Amelia.
However, due to half term starting next week, we are restricted on the time that we can film. The premises of scholl will be open to the students which we shall take up the chance when possible, but due to the fact that the other members of the group could already have commitments, we might have to leave the filming to after hald term which leaves a lot of stress and urgency to the filming of the music video.

Indie Genre Research - Simillar Music
Audrianna Cole (our chosen unsigned artist) is classed in the indie genre. Therefore, I decided to gather a gerater understanding of this genre, so that when it comes to creating our own music video, we can provide the key factors that is included within this genre.
For sound, I felt that the artist, Amy McDonald, shared huge simillarites to our artist that we chose. They both have the same singing style, which I feel is almost 'country'; however, they are both classed as indie.
The beat to both the songs, are also quite simillar due to the insturstments used and the climax of the songs. The are tend to be quite slow but quicken the beat slowly.

Simillar Music Video
I created a prezi to show simillar indie artists compared with our chosen unsigned artist. I have placed the music video along with the simillarites along with Audrianna Cole.
Timetable
To see when I am avaiable for filming, I have copied my timetable to place upon the blog to show the other members of my group when i am free. Also to compare mine with my group and the actress.

Progress on Filming
Today was the first day of filming that Sean and I did, with Amelia Waterson (actress). I decided that we should film the major scene within the music video, so that we could concentrate more on this scene and then after on the smaller scenes.
We filmed after school so that the premise of where the scene was taken place would be empty and quite. Sean created the tea party table with a white table cloth and the mugs and saucers. While I made up Amelia with her makeup and hair - to fit her correctly to the position that she was performing as.
The shot list came in well when filming as we both knew excatly what was happening and what position that camera had to be in, to gather the right angles that is requested.
At the beginning of filming, Amelia did not have confidence with the task requested for her to perform, however, through out the time of filming, she gathered the confidence and was able to mouth and act the words perfectly. The only problem that we faced was the weather. Amelia was wearing a strappy dress in extremly cold weather, this created a sense of quickness to complete the shot that was in action.
Overall, I feel that we captured everything that was needed, with more than one take for each shot. This way, we had a choice of which shot was best.

Tea Party Props
I asked Miss Mapp requesting permission to use some props that was suggested to use. The props were a top hat, a pocket watch, ribbons and the 'Drink Me' bottle that is used in the Alice and Wonderland narrative. Miss Mapp said that it was possible to borrow the props that were requested.
Props
At the weekend, I decided to go and buy all the props that would be needed for the first day of filmimg. I bought a variety of different cups and saucers for the tea party scene. I decided on different types and shapes due to the fact that it makes it more realistic and authentic. The type of filming that we want to portray through our video is alone and a sense of desertation.
Planning of Digi Pack
To gather a greater understanding of how the digi pack is going to connect with the filming of the music video, I created a spider diagram of diffferent ideas. In realation to 'Camera, Editing, Mise en scene and Lighting'.
Filming Plan
So that filming would be more organised and structured, Saun created a step by step plan. This would also be useful when it came to editing.

Timetable - Actress
To create a filming timetable, I needed to see when our actress is free. The easiest way to find out is to use her timetable to match ours. The first table is her week one lessons and frees, the table below that is week two.
However, the easiest time to film due to the time taken to set up, would be after school, which we all have agreed upon.
